Your new role
What you will do as a UK Tax Consultant: Support the Senior UK Tax Manager in the management of the UK tax affairs of our client, and act as a key member of the Partners' Affairs and Tax team. Assist in the delivery of UK tax compliance work needed to meet the firm’s filing and payment obligations, and advise the business on UK direct and indirect tax matters. Preparation of Partnership tax computations, which include the worldwide 'Trading IE' (profits c. £400m+) of the primary LLP entities, and submission of the partnership tax returns to HM Revenue & Customs. Preparation of UK tax computations for various other UK and non-UK partnerships and timely submission of tax returns. Preparation of corporate tax and other returns for the LLP's subsidiary corporate entities. Key role in the year-end closing process, including assisting in the preparation of Deferred Tax calculations. Assisting in the tax accounting and preparation of the tax notes for disclosure of the firm’s statutory accounts. Advising partners and finance teams on complex VAT matters. Involvement in ad hoc projects, tax digitalisation, employment tax aspects, process improvements, etc. Assisting in the release cycles for partner tax reserves. What you will have:
Experience in the preparation of UK tax computations. Strong analytical and numeracy skills with an ability to focus on detail. Strong IT skills, e.g., Excel. The ability to analyse complex technical tax matters and provide clear and accurate advice. Experience of submitting corporate and partnership tax returns online using tax software packages, including Alphatax and CCH Personal Tax or similar. The role will involve interactions with partners, external tax advisers, finance teams, and other support functions. The ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with these stakeholders will therefore be critical. Collaborative approach and ability to build strong relationships with PAT team colleagues and more broadly in London and Belfast, as well as with colleagues in other teams located across the globe. The ability to communicate complex tax and accounting issues both orally and in writing to non-specialists. Knowledge of tax issues affecting professional partnerships. An appropriate professional financial qualification is essential; ACA/CTA or equivalent. What you'll get in return
