Your Mission: As our Food Safety Manager, you'll be the guardian of food safety and related compliance, ensuring that our customers and co-workers enjoy safe and high-quality food. Working closely with our operations team, you will secure that food safety routines and processes are embedded in the everyday. You'll lead Food Safety for both the UK & IE, grow food safety competence, and address key compliance gaps. WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:

Qualifications: Formal qualifications in food safety or equivalent. Experience: At least 10 years in food safety, quality, operations, standards, and compliance, with a proven track record of delivering results. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of HACCP, food safety standards, and procedures. Leadership: Minimum 5 years of experience in leading and inspiring teams. Retail Insight: Experience in the food sector, preferably within retail. Performance: Skilled in planning, driving output, and measuring business performance. WHAT YOU WILL DO DAY TO DAY:

Develop & Implement: Create and execute risk-based compliance plans for food safety, including frameworks, standards, and KPIs. Lead & Inspire: Guide the Food Safety team through planning, coaching, and coordinating activities to achieve common goals. Monitor & Innovate: Identify market needs and develop market-specific safety requirements aligned with IKEA's strategy. Collaborate: Contribute insights to the market business plan and work as an integrated commercial partner. Audit & Improve: Plan, conduct, and follow up on food safety audits, ensuring quality and addressing non-compliance issues. Communicate: Ensure clear and effective food safety communication with customers. Maintain Standards: Ensure equipment and facilities meet IKEA's food safety standards and legal requirements. Engage Externally: Liaise with external companies for compliance verification activities. Be a Team Player: Actively contribute to the food team's objectives and goals. Share Knowledge: Facilitate knowledge transfer and information sharing within and between units. Collaborate Widely: Work with key stakeholders across various departments to ensure integration and maximize impact. Stay Proactive: Monitor and respond to new local food safety needs, demands, and regulations. Champion Sustainability: Drive sustainability initiatives within food sourcing, production, and materials usage. The principal location is working a minimum of 8 days per calendar month in Service Office and the remainder working remotely at home. The role of Food Safety Manager will offer a starting salary of £53,000.00 plus the full IKEA Benefits package.
