Join Aston Martin as the Underframe Lead Project Engineer – Large Platform. Are you ready to play a crucial role in the technical delivery of our SUVs? As our next Underframe Lead Project Engineer, you’ll assist the Platform Manager in delivering a body structure that meets performance attributes. You will aid in the design and development of components, provide feedback on change requests, and work with the team to introduce engineering changes. Who We’re Looking For:

Working with a team of experienced engineers, you’ll deliver the underframe for our SUVs, ensuring that the body structure always meets vehicle performance targets. You will also work cross-functionally to resolve design conflicts, escalating appropriately if a satisfactory compromise cannot be found. Key Responsibilities:

Technical Delivery:

Assist the Platform Manager in delivering a body structure that meets performance attributes and build timing. Design and Development:

Aid in the design and development of feasible components that meet both the business case and technical case and provide feedback on change requests. Engineering Documentation:

Produce and maintain engineering documents relating to platform development such as FESO, DVP, DFMEA and lessons learned. Engineering Changes:

Work with the team to introduce engineering changes and generate releases for prototype and production parts to meet each build phase. Validation:

Produce development plans to validate the body structure against performance and attribute requirements. What You Need:

Good understanding of body structures design, associated manufacturing constraints, and the relevant commodities used on an underframe (including but not limited to castings, extrusions, pressings and SMC). Knowledge of aluminium joining techniques and associated design constraints. Relevant engineering degree (Engineering Masters and/or Chartered Engineer desirable). Knowledge of the automotive development cycle from concept to launch. Experience using CAD software and proficiency in Microsoft Office. What You’ll Do:

You will have a broad scope with exposure to many areas of the business, providing you with ample learning opportunities compared to larger companies. Trust is essential in working with the team to introduce engineering changes. What You Can Expect:

This is a full-time role with hybrid working arrangements, including 2-3 days a week in the office. The working hours are 7:30-16:30 Monday-Thursday and 7:30-12:30 on Friday.
