The Global Regulatory Policy and Intelligence team is accountable for monitoring changes in the external regulatory environment worldwide. The team also coordinates and drives Pfizer’s response to these changes. Discussions with internal colleagues specialising in affected areas, ranging from clinical development to digital technologies, allows the regulatory policy team to develop a point of view, which Pfizer uses during discussions with regulators (e.g. the EU Medicines Agency, US FDA, China Regulatory Authority) and colleagues from other pharmaceutical companies. The Undergraduate positions are based in Sandwich or Walton Oaks, UK. What can I achieve and what will I be accountable for whilst completing a placement at Pfizer?

During the year, the Undergraduate has responsibility for: Monitoring and analysing changes in the regulatory environment, identifying important trends and assessing the potential impact of these on Pfizer. Presenting at meetings to advise on key issues and their potential impact (e.g. conducting clinical trials for new medicines, opportunities to accelerate the development of new medicines, strengthening regulatory systems and pathways). Working with teams to develop and agree the Pfizer view on key issues, to provide material for future activity. Providing input to the development of strategies and plans aimed at influencing the external regulatory environment. Identifying opportunities where Pfizer points of view can be used externally. The regulatory environment is complex and constantly changing, so you will need to be able to manage multiple issues and deliver to time and quality standards. During the year, you could also expect to gain: A year’s experience working in a high priority area within the company in a small, highly dedicated team that develops and uses Pfizer’s influence to aid the development of medicines. A broad comprehension of the role of regulatory affairs and the regulatory environment and how they impact the discovery, development and marketing of pharmaceuticals. An appreciation of how different departments across Pfizer interact to work towards common goals. Specialist knowledge of regulatory issues and an appreciation of Pfizer’s role in the external environment. Being part of a team that helps to deliver new products as speedily as possible to where they are needed - the patients. What other opportunities and benefits do Pfizer offer?

There will be many opportunities to interact face-to-face and virtually (via Webex, teleconference, etc.) with Pfizer colleagues around the world. There will also be opportunities for interaction with people working on similar issues in other pharmaceutical companies. When can I start?

Placements will start on 1st September 2025 and will run for 12 months. PERSON SPECIFICATION
