Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for an Underwriting Technician in London, who will have responsibility for ensuring the Technical Property Team are suitably enabled to transact business effectively, through accurate, timely and complete recording of data, investigation of issues and relevant engagement with external & internal stakeholders. Duties & Responsibilities: Assist underwriters with account recording workflow management Pool Re and The Source (UW platform) Catastrophe modelling requests via modelling platform (CMR) Maintain and manage reporting suite for workflow and forecasting for Technical Property Team Work closely with operations support (Xceedance) to ensure consistent and accurate booking information Monitor and manage Underwriting file integrity Support management in producing and monitoring portfolio and facility metrics Work with internal and external stakeholders in the reporting and resolution of accounts receivable queries Represent the Operations function within the Underwriting team Observe and capture requirements for process improvements, software integration or task migration Coordinate with other UK property UTs to ensure business continuity Assist Underwriting Managers for the Technical Property Team with data management, oversight reporting and task completion Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Ideally 2 years commercial insurance experience preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced environment dealing with highly confidential information Understanding of underwriting practices throughout the policy life cycle Proactive and able to work collaboratively within a team environment Demonstrated ability to support and build workflow and process Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail Minimum of A-level experience, or equivalent experience Excellent competency in MS Office applications BHSI Offers: A competitive package and exciting growth opportunities for career-oriented teammates A dynamic, action-oriented, and thoughtful environment centered on always doing the right thing for our customers, teammates and our other stakeholders A purposely non-bureaucratic organization that embraces simplicity over complexity and emphasizes individual excellence in a team framework To apply, please submit your CV with a cover letter outlining why this would be the perfect role for you to hr.europe@bhspecialty.com
