Job Summary

The Upper Limb Team are happy to advertise their Shoulder Fellowship.

The role is for 40 hours per week. The fellowship is due to start in February 2025 for six months.

Main Duties of the Job

The successful candidate will: Attend clinics at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh as required. Participate in elective, trauma and emergency surgery as required. Attend arthroplasty meetings and prepare presentations for MDT meetings. One Fellow will be responsible for maintaining the Peri-Prosthetic Infection log. Participate in the non-resident out of hour's rota dependent upon the service requirements. Carry out ward rounds and clerk patients on the day of surgery, including consent and a thromboprophylaxis assessment. Manage inpatients in conjunction with allied specialties at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary (Wigan Infirmary). Maintain clear and contemporaneous medical records. Job Responsibilities

The aim of the Fellowships is to provide advanced training in Upper Limb Surgery within the Upper Limb Department.

Qualifications

Essential

MBChB, MBBS or equivalent Full registration with GMC with licence to practice Desirable

FRCS (Orth/Plast) or equivalent Higher Degree (MD, PhD) Experience

Higher Specialist Training Experience in Hand and Upper Limb Surgery Desirable

Previous upper limb fellowship Relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals Skills
