User Researcher Location: London – Hybrid Employment: Full Time All applicants must hold a SC (Security Clearance) clearance to apply. The Opportunity: For the UK Government, maintaining National Security is a 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year mission. To support these complex operations, the MoD partners with this Big4 Firm to empower critical thinking and drive value across its strategic initiatives and technology investments. The Role: As a User Researcher, you’ll be engaged in complex technology projects within the UK’s Defence, Intelligence, and Military Agencies, planning and executing user research studies using various methods, such as interviews, usability testing, surveys, and ethnographic research. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you'll analyse user data to offer actionable insights. Additionally, you'll create user archetypes, journey maps, and other design artefacts to communicate insights and effectively support decision-making processes. Required Skills/Experience: British Passport Holder with active SC Clearance. Previous Defence, Military, Policing, National Security, Counter Terrorism, or Justice Project involvement. Expert in applying user research methodologies across complex defence/government environments. Excel within a multidisciplinary Agile team to design and deliver people-centred services. Working knowledge of how to research accessibility needs or assisted digital needs. Championing user research / user-centred design/service design approaches. Line management - mentoring/training other user researchers. Advanced communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage conflict and convey difficult messages with tact and sensitivity. Strong consultancy and leadership skills and confidence in exploring problem spaces with clients to determine the most appropriate way forward.
