We have an exciting opportunity for a UX Designer to define the interactivity and UX on a variety of products, proposing solutions that provide users with the most effective, efficient, and enjoyable experience as possible whilst ensuring that core business goals are achieved and are feasible given any technical capability constraints. Working with the UX Design team to further develop the UX strategy at FGH, thoroughly investigate problem areas, and ensure all facets of the product experience are driven by a user-centric approach. This is a hybrid role, working at least 2 days in the office with the remainder working from home. Accountabilities

Investigate user problems, carrying out thorough research to define usable, appropriate, and valuable solutions. Create meaningful UX deliverables such as storyboards, wireframes, user flows, interaction models, journey flows, conceptual designs, and presentations that help teams understand user intent and what to build. Create and deliver UX solutions that measurably improve the core workflows of our target users. Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research to develop user empathy and better understand intent, motivation, and behavior. Collaborate closely with stakeholders, strategists, analysts, developers, and designers to guide UX design from start to finish of a project. Design and deliver user experience solutions for all FGH products, using a thorough discovery process. Solve problems experienced by the user with a focus on business and user outcomes. Solve interaction design problems using analytical, usability testing, and internal/external research. Use storyboards, wireframes, user flows, interaction models, journey flows, mental models, and conceptual designs to better understand the end user. Work with Product Designers to develop FGH Design Language and Design System. Carry out heuristic reviews to identify user issues and inform research studies. Design and create working prototypes in tools such as Figma for user research or to illustrate design and interaction ideas. Support the creation of a common FGH Design Language, constantly evaluating and improving fit for both user and business requirements. Conduct both qualitative and quantitative research to better understand users. Support CRO activities across all brands by offering advice, guidance, and UI design services. Prototype concepts using a variety of methods (both analogue and digital) to inform projects. Maintain awareness of general trends across e-commerce and a deep understanding of User Experience tools and techniques in a touch-first environment. Mentor and coach less experienced colleagues to enhance their skills and capabilities, ensuring the use of departmental standards and best practices. Commit to good outcomes for customers at all times. Ensure compliance with all applicable UK and local regulations, Company Policies, and FCA Conduct Rules. Minimum of three years of directly related experience (UX designer or similar). Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects, managing time and resources. Experience working in cross-functional teams with all areas of the business. Good knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Significant expertise in reviewing existing systems and processes to identify UX issues and develop recommendations. Proven ability to empathize with users, user needs, and mental models. Familiarity with UX trends and methodologies. Strong skills in UX tools – Figma and Photoshop. Strong understanding of UX techniques such as personas, red route analysis, and user mental modeling. Experience in designing, planning, and facilitating user research. Ability to analyze data and synthesize insights to shape UX design deliverables and outcomes. Experience working with data and data analysts to identify new improvement opportunities. Demonstrated understanding of constraints placed on UX by specific technologies. Knowledge of front-end technologies and frameworks (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Experience with project estimation. Ability to work independently as well as in a highly collaborative, team-based environment. Passion for user-centered design, service design, and knowledge of information architecture, usability, and interaction design. Understanding of commercial retail business. Demonstrated expert experience in defining, planning, and delivering experience projects. A degree in design, human-computer interaction, cognitive science, human factors, or a related UX field. Strong communication skills and the ability to present and sell ideas to various audiences (technical and non-technical). High level of drive and motivation. Knowledge of emerging technologies. Exceptional eye for detail. Competitor knowledge and understanding. Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines with high levels of accuracy. Exceptional customer focus. Able to investigate, analyze, and interpret customer information and act according to business rules. Understanding and knowledge of FCA regulatory requirements. Ability to work individually or as part of a team. Hybrid working – must be able to work from home (currently split 2 days in the office, 3 days at home). Must be able to attend UX-related workshops and research sessions. High level of reading, watching, studying, observing, focused listening, designing, and problem-solving.
