We are seeking a
Lead UX/UI Designer
with extensive experience in the news media industry to drive the design strategy and execution for our digital platforms. This is a leadership role where you will be responsible for crafting engaging, user-centric experiences that align with the fast-paced, dynamic nature of news delivery while maintaining our brand identity. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of how audiences interact with news content across web and mobile platforms and will lead the design of innovative solutions that enhance engagement, accessibility, and usability. Key Responsibilities UX/UI Design Leadership: Define and implement a cohesive UX/UI vision for our digital news platforms, focusing on user engagement and content accessibility. Lead the end-to-end design process, including user research, wireframing, prototyping, and final visual design. Develop intuitive navigation, content presentation, and interactive features that cater to diverse news audiences. Collaboration & Strategy: Work closely with editorial, product, and development teams to align design priorities with business objectives and audience needs. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, present design concepts, and iterate based on feedback. Advocate for user-centered design principles across the organization. Team Management: Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration. Establish design standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency across all digital platforms. Research & Innovation: Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to inform design decisions. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and design tools to incorporate innovative solutions into the user experience. Analyze user behavior and engagement metrics to refine and optimize the design. News Media Expertise: Understand the unique challenges of designing for news media, including breaking news delivery, multimedia content integration, and Real Time updates. Design experiences that balance editorial priorities with user preferences, ensuring a seamless flow of information. Requirements Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of UX/UI design experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Proven track record of designing for news media or content-heavy platforms. Experience working on responsive web and mobile applications, with a focus on optimizing performance and usability. Technical Skills: Proficient in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools like InVision. Strong knowledge of UX design principles, interaction design, and usability testing methodologies. Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and Front End development processes is a plus. Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG) and designing for inclusive user experiences. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Passion for news and storytelling, with an understanding of audience behavior and preferences. Education: Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
