4 August 2021 Swindon £31,931 Full-Time Overall purpose of role: The Records Manager will work with the Knowledge & Information Manager to provide records and information management services for both electronic and paper records. They will be actively involved in managing records through their lifecycle, including the review of records, development and application of appraisal criteria and management of their destruction or transfer to The National Archives. The Records Manager will manage electronic records in EDRM systems (Objective and SharePoint). They will champion a culture of good information management across the organisation, providing advice and supporting the development and implementation of related policies and guidance. They will work in a large KIM team that is part of the Strategy Directorate at UKRI. Reporting to the Knowledge & Information Manager. Direct reports: Records Management Support Officers. Responsibilities: Provide advice and guidance on records management issues Support development of appraisal criteria and implementation of the UKRI retention schedule Support EDRMS management, including file plan maintenance, users’ accounts and access privileges, and first line technical support Records life cycle management, including records review, appraisal, destruction and transfer Contribute to the development of procedures and workflow for accession, description and preservation of electronic records in corporate information systems Prepare selected material for transfer to the National Archives Deliver records management user training and the ongoing records and information management awareness programme Contribute to the review of the UKRI file plan and retention schedule, and implementation of retention and disposal policies Provide input to the update of policies and guidance Support the assessment process for records which need to be sent to The National Archives and liaise with the team there to manage activities Assist with the management of off-site records storage contracts Other duties as required.
