28 February 2023 Southampton £33,314 to £40,931 per annum Fixed Term From the ethics of pregnancy to the use of AI in contemporary art, research at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Southampton addresses some of the most challenging issues facing culture and society today. Now, in its second year, the University of Southampton is inviting applications to join our flagship Anniversary Fellowship scheme. The Anniversary Fellowship scheme is key to supporting us in achieving this vision by attracting researchers from around the world from a variety of backgrounds and walks of life whose common goal is to achieve the remarkable and build an inclusive world. About you Bringing your own unique vision of how to make a difference to society, you’ll help to shape the future of research, both at the University and in your own field. Over three years of protected research time, you’ll have the opportunity to tackle adventurous and novel research challenges. Mentoring, peer support, training, and networking opportunities will be available throughout, and we will help you to access external research funding. We will encourage you to work across disciplines and connect with external partners. Our Anniversary Fellows will support and inspire each other, fostering innovation on an international platform. You will hold a PhD and will be on the way to demonstrating potential for research excellence in your field. Highly motivated and organised, you will demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills, and will also have exemplary powers of communication, alongside a collaborative and inclusive approach. The Faculty of Arts and Humanities is particularly interested to hear from candidates pursuing research in: Creative and Critical Practice (e.g., AI, screen, art, multi-media, text, performance, VR, gaming, creative computing, digital humanities, fashion, textiles) Cultural, social and historical responses to the ‘Grand Challenges’ (e.g., environmental justice, contemporary conflict, borders and migrations, data and security, language and diversity) Curation and Preservation (digital preservation and scholarship, decolonising the gallery and archive)
