As an active coach, the position requires 4 days minimum in our Colchester/Essex laboratory.

Responsibilities

Leadership:

Responsible for validation of products with Hardware, FPGA and embedded Linux Software, leading a growing team of Manual and Automated QA/Validation Engineers.

Innovate and create automated scripts:

Design and implement fully or semi-automated testing solutions for hardware and software to improve product quality.

Player-Coach:

Individual contributor and team leader with management responsibility.

Collaborate with product developers:

Create test plans and comprehensively test while products are being developed as part of agile sprints.

Debug complex systems:

Reproduce field observed defects for developers to pathfind potential solutions.

Supervise and provide Tier 3+ Customer Technical Support:

The validation team is responsible for the highest technical level of customer support, with contingently paid off-hours work.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or relevant experience.

Expert level proficiency in Python, Linux, Bash, and data networking. Strong proficiency at coverage using unit tests.

Experience with RF systems, video encoding/decoding.

Proficiency with lab equipment and electronics testing.

Effective English oral and written communication skills and eagerness to learn.

Demonstrated technical team leadership.

Preferred

In-depth knowledge of application of software to RF systems.

Validation/verification experience for AMD/Xilinx FPGAs & Arm based devices with Linux.

Release engineering experience.
