The Role:
As a VAT Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing VAT returns, monitoring VAT controls, and advising on VAT-related processes. Working closely with Finance and Operational Teams, you will ensure accurate compliance and contribute to the efficiency of tax reporting.
Key responsibilities:
Preparing and submitting monthly VAT returns accurately and on time.
Monitoring compliance with VAT controls across invoicing, procurement, and travel expenses.
Providing guidance on VAT processes, ensuring correct accounting treatment of indirect taxes.
Critically assessing SAP-generated VAT figures, identifying and rectifying any errors.
Building strong working relationships across Finance and Operational Teams to support accurate tax compliance.
What are we looking for:
Qualified Accountant, or part qualified working to full qualification, or significant VAT experience with a reputable accounting firm.
Previous experience in VAT compliance, either in industry or practice.
Experience with SAP (ideally SAP4H) and advanced Excel skills.
Strong numeracy and problem-solving skills with a focus on technical accuracy.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present information clearly.
