Vehicle Body Repairer

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Vehicle Body Repairer to join our established Aftermarket team at our Anston workshop. Your number one responsibility will be to carry out vehicle repairs on both warranty and chargeable basis in the most cost effective and efficient manner.

Your dream role:
We need a Vehicle Body Repairer to carry out processes on a range of passenger carrying vehicles, including preparation & assembly, construction, sub-assemblies, panelling & flooring.
This is a permanent, full-time, site-based position.
Make up & fit seating, trim, floor covering, internal finishes & fittings, manufacturing components as required.
Prepare metal, plastic & fibreglass to a pre-paint standard, whilst ensuring repairs are carried out efficiently and in the most cost-effective manner possible.
Ensure compliance with all H.S.E legislative laws and regulations as well as the company’s health & safety and ISO quality policies and procedures.
Ensure all PPE, tools and equipment are used correctly and any defects are reported as necessary for repair or replacement.
Interpret & implement technical service instruction data.
Be reliable, flexible, self-motivated with a positive attitude to fellow workers and customers.
Positively impact our customer by providing a high quality of work and service at all times.
Ability to adjust start and finish times to meet customer requirements and work occasional weekends would be an advantage.
What you will bring:
Experience in body panel and ideally mechanical repair of bus, coach and/or similar commercial vehicles, with practical experience in: glass fibre repairs/refurbishment, structural framework repairs/refurbishment, body panel shaping, cutting, and painting.
Ability to work unsupervised, often to tight deadlines.
Understanding and compliance in vehicle maintenance procedures and VOSA standards.
Experience in gas, electric, MIG and TIG welding.
Experience in LGV/HGV and PSV carrying vehicles; holding vocational PSV or HGV licenses is a plus.
A full UK driving license would be an advantage.
Good understanding of bus, coach, and commercial vehicle systems, and knowledge of various body/mechanical repairing techniques.
Ability to use the required tools safely and interpret technical manuals and service updates.
Ability to work off site unsupervised when required.
Good oral, written, and numeracy skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritize a busy workload.
