Vendor Manager

at our Hebburn HQ, who will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely procurement of equipment, parts, and materials required to assemble and customise our products together with all other procurement requirements within HCMUK! Identify reliable suppliers, negotiate favourable terms, and establish strong working relationships to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality product parts. Identify potential new suppliers and cost-saving opportunities. Understand product specifications, technical requirements, and potential changes. Lead by example in fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination and communication throughout the production process. Foster effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams to proactively resolve supply chain issues to ensure operational efficiency. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring all terms and conditions are clear, enforceable, and in the best interest of HCMUK. Resolve contractual disputes and manage contract renewals or terminations. Develop and implement supplier evaluation processes to undertake regular supplier performance reviews, assessing quality, reliability, delivery times, and cost-effectiveness. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement strategies to achieve cost savings without compromising quality. Conduct thorough due diligence on suppliers, including financial stability, ethical practices, and compliance with industry standards. Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential risks. Maintain a database of approved suppliers and regularly update records. Work closely with operational and inventory teams to maintain optimal stock levels. Implement inventory control procedures, such as reorder points, safety stock levels, and just-in-time practices. Generate regular reports and insights to guide decision-making and support strategic initiatives. Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, including spend analysis, supplier performance, and cost savings. Undertake regular reviews with your team(s) to ensure that all business deliverables are being achieved. Lead, inspire and equip your team(s) to deliver outstanding results within their areas. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to ensure a consistent flow of product parts. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Essential Full UK Driving Licence. Proven experience in procurement management, supply chain management, or related roles, preferably gained from working in the manufacturing or construction sector. Professional qualification gained from the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or in Supply Management (CPSM). Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Solid understanding of cost analysis and budget management. Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Preferred Degree in Procurement and Contract Management. CIPS Level 6 Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply. NEBOSH general certificate, IOSH safety certificate, or equivalent. Why Should You Apply?
