Aegon Asset Management is a leading global investor, with employees working from 13 locations across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. We advise on assets for a global client base of pension plans, public funds, insurance companies, banks, wealth managers, family offices, and foundations. We believe in fundamental, research-driven active management, underpinned by effective risk management and a commitment to responsible investment.

We are looking for a Manager for Market Data Management to join us in Edinburgh. You will report to our Head of Market Data Management and work as part of a small team that supports and develops one another.

This role involves the procurement of information services and market data from third-party vendors and managing supplier relationships, including the use of scorecards, KPIs, and more. You will also develop and deliver the market data third-party strategy in conjunction with key stakeholders and determine solutions based on a deep understanding of demand. Responsibilities include:

Procuring and renewing Market Data services required by the business in the most cost-effective manner.

Developing sourcing strategies and category plans.

Driving cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Ensuring data/service usage and pricing is accurately recorded.

Maintaining an audit trail for all contracts and commercial agreements.

Ensuring commercial terms are accurately recorded on the Contract Management System.

Managing relationships with market data providers, ensuring service quality and adherence to contractual obligations.

Conducting regular vendor service reviews, including the use of a clear vendor scorecard methodology.

Actively supervising actual system usage to ensure value is acquired and to inform renewal discussions and regular service reviews.

Acting as the primary contact across the AAM business for services provided by the vendors.

Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand market data needs and deliver appropriate solutions.

Identifying initiatives that enhance our Investment Toolkit and delivering on these by taking on Project Management or SME responsibilities.

Ensuring that the acquisition and use of market data comply with all relevant regulatory requirements.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

Experience in a similar procurement role.

Strong negotiation, vendor management, and budget management skills.

Experience working with legal and commercial aspects of vendor licenses.

Understanding of financial instruments and international exchanges.

Positive communication and facilitation skills.

Index data knowledge – either on the commercial front or working within index data teams is advantageous, but not essential.

What’s in it for you?

A competitive salary, depending on the experience you bring.

A non-contributory pension between 9%-13%.

A discretionary bonus, depending on personal and company performance.

27 days leave per year (plus bank holidays, pro-rated for part-time).

We also offer private medical cover, life assurance, critical illness cover, enhanced parental leave, and a variety of lifestyle benefits.

We serve a diverse, ever-changing world. If that sounds like the sort of place you'd like to work, hit the "Apply" button.

The legal bits

We’ll need you to confirm you have the right to work in the UK. If we offer you a job and you accept, there are some checks we need to complete before you can start with us, including a credit and criminal record check, as well as providing satisfactory references.

Equal Opportunity Employer:

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation, or age.
