Role overview
Based at the HVDC Centre of Excellence in Stafford, UK, the role gives an excellent opportunity for a motivated candidate to innovate, expand their technical skills and personal development within an internationally recognised company in the renewables and grid sectors. The successful candidate will be part of a cohort of interns working within a 12-month development plan that allows them to stretch outside of their core academic background that prepares them for successful careers.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop and test control and protection systems for power electronics systems and grid technology applications
Analyse, simulate, test, and integrate components, modules or systems that meet business standards.
Produce technical documentation such as requirements, designs, test reports and specifications
Follow the departments standard design practices,reviews and guidelines.
Assist with laboratory activities for the installation and testing of the control system.
The Person:
The candidate will have completed 2 years of degree level study in a related science such as Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience and be predicted to obtain at least a 2:1 at Bachelors level, or equivalent knowledge or experience.
Needs to be eligible to work in the UK.
