Does a varying workload and in house referrals sound like the perfect fit for you? If so, Colne Vets4Pets have a great opportunity for you.

Colne Vets4Pets is located in store, with plans in process for mezzanine expansion, to incorporate 4 consult rooms, a dental and imaging suite, a separate induction area, prep room and lab room, a large colleague space, and a quiet waiting area. This is to support our colleagues, patients, and work towards becoming a Fear Free practice.

We are on the edge of town, with the M65 and train station only ¼ of a mile from the practice, and a regular bus every 30 mins into Manchester City Centre. Colne is situated at the base of the Pennines so is perfect for outdoor activities and walks in the Dales and Lakes on your days off.

Helen, vet and practice owner, is supported by a great crew of 2 Vets, a HVN, 2 RVN's, 1 SVN, 4 VCA's and a reception team, led by the experienced Practice Manager, on hand to support the whole team. This is a great opportunity for a colleague to join and get experience of the team and practice with the option of partnership in the future if this is something you are looking to explore.

Helen is a GDP advisor, experienced in mentoring new graduates, looking for ideas to be worked between new colleagues. We have a good variety of clients and cases, with referrals being available but due to our client base we do a lot of work up in house. Equipment includes doppler ultrasound, operating loupes, electrosurgery unit, tonometry, dental x-ray, and a growing orthopaedic kit.

We are looking for a full-time vet, but we can also consider flexible hours for the right candidate. Rota -1 in 3 Saturdays (9am-5:45pm), no Sunday working or OOHs after 7pm. We have 20-minute sick pet consults (30 mins for new grads) and also catch up and admin time of over 1 hour rostered into the day.

We encourage socialising outside of work to create a family friendly environment in work, so include the odd chippy tea nights, rounders events, a lambing party(!) and walks in the local hills on our days off.

For this position we can offer a salary of £35k for a new graduate or up to £65k for certificate holders, dependent upon experience. As well as the great benefits you get through Vets4Pets, you also have your birthday as extra holiday and an enhanced employee vet discount in Colne.

Should you wish to hear more about the position or would like to register your interested please reach out to Helen at helen.pratt@vets4pets.com or 07425133283.

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
