Veterinary Surgeon - Emergency Out of Hours

Highland Vet Emergencies is now hosted in a new purpose-built practice offering advanced services to the Highland region. We have a brand new and exciting opportunity for an out of hours veterinary surgeon with an interest in emergency and critical care. You will revolutionise patient care in the Highlands of Scotland by contributing to the first 24/7 site in the Highlands, whilst unlocking an unrivalled work-life balance for yourself. As a Veterinary Surgeon at Highland Vet Emergencies, you will be integral to our mission, dedicated to delivering top-tier care to our patients. You will be the first opinion out of hours service for our local practices and assist in the overnight management of elective surgical referral patients. With onsite CT, Ultrasound, DR X-ray, Full Idexx lab suite with EPOC and in house coagulation we can provide a comprehensive and accessible emergency service for our clients. This is a new role and new service, allowing the team to input processes and procedures to help shape the service. You will work alongside a veterinary nurse on the shifts with reception cover until late. As the service grows, we will look to add additional team members to ensure workload remains sustainable. What You Need to Join Our Team

We invite applications from Registered Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS) with varying levels of experience and diverse backgrounds. Experience within an out of hours environment is desirable but our selection process is centred on attitude and aptitude, and we offer comprehensive training and support for all new team members. Above all, we seek surgeons who share our vision and values. A Work Pattern That Proves Out of Hours Doesn't Mean All Hours

Our attractive shift pattern works out at an average of 26hrs per week over a 4 week rolling rota. Weeks 1 and 2 will comprise your weeks ‘on’ – which breaks down into 2-3 shifts on followed by 2-3 shifts off within these 2 weeks. Weeks 3 and 4 will then be full weeks off, offering you an excellent work-life balance. Flexibility requests will be considered and accommodated wherever possible in the interest of supporting the wellbeing of our team. Why Choose Us?

We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive salary, you will benefit from: Work Life Balance
