We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to expand our friendly, supportive team. The candidate will fill a new role of between three to five working days per week with salary and benefits pro rata.
Within this role, the daily routine includes either admission consultations of the day's in-patients followed by surgical and in-patient procedures or routine consultations for everything from boosters to long-term case management. The rota varies through the week so that consultation and surgical work is shared among the veterinary staff, and there is no out-of-hours (OOH) work.
The salary range is £41,700 - £45,500.
We are a long-established first-opinion small-animal veterinary practice on two sites in beautiful coastal East Devon. The smaller branch site has facilities for consultations and patient examinations, while the main premises is well-equipped for patient examinations and surgical procedures. We have modern and fully maintained anaesthetic equipment, multi-parameter patient monitoring, digital X-rays, dedicated dental radiography, and good-quality ultrasound.
Our friendly, fun, and supportive team consists of currently 2.5 FTE vets, 4 experienced and capable veterinary nurses (VNs), a nursing assistant, and a reception team. We strive to do the very best for our patients in a happy cooperative working environment and have been involved with the local community for many years.
The successful applicant will be qualified and registered with the RCVS, and some experience is desirable. An enthusiastic, positive team player with a high standard of patient care, you will also have a client-focused approach. Great communication skills and a passion for promoting preventative health care in patients are essential.
