Veterinary Surgeon – Feline Only

·
Full time
Location: Peterborough
·
Job offered by: Vetisco
·
Salary is up to £70,000 DOE plus relocation Allowance up to £5,000.

At Animates we have a new and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, committed vet wanting to really focus on our feline patients.

We are developing a cat-only clinic at our Thurlby site in a standalone building ready and waiting for the right vet to establish a dedicated service. This will be the only facility of its kind in the area and so there is the potential to attract new, dedicated cat owner clients as well as better serving our existing ones.

Having a relevant certificate, or currently working towards one is desirable. However, for a vet who is confident with first opinion cases with a desire to really focus on cats and wanting to take the next step in their career, we would fully support your development alongside establishing the service more gradually.

About us

We are a busy first opinion, fully equipped 7 vet, 9 RVN, 10 Support (VCA and reception) practice, across two sites, with a real focus on enabling training and development within the team. Our Day Manager is responsible for the smooth running of the day, ensuring the clinical team can focus on what they do best.

We have a varied and interesting caseload with plenty of opportunity to consult, investigate, operate and follow your own cases through. We provide great first opinion care for small animals and exotic species and have an ophthalmology certificate holder within our team. In addition, a peripatetic surgeon visits us for orthopaedics and the more complicated soft tissue surgery.

Out of hours treatment and hospitalisation care is provided by our local Vets Now team in Peterborough.

Consulting vets have the support of a dispensary nurse, allowing you to make the most of our 20-minute consultations, with a real focus on establishing relationships with our clients and their pets.

Our Culture

Wellbeing of the team is very important to us. We focus on this in our day-to-day work and the role of the Day Manager is a vital part of this, ensuring our days are structured and planned to allow for a smooth workflow. In addition, we have monthly wellbeing activities, summer and winter events, themes and outings to look forward to.

The practice is in a lovely, if underrated, part of the country. We are close to Peterborough for transport links and to the historic market town of Stamford with its thriving high street and café culture. For those who love the outdoors, we are one of the driest parts of the country, great for getting out and about and taking advantage of nearby Rutland water and its leisure activities or a dog walk with a pub lunch.
