Our client in West Sussex is looking for a full-time Veterinary Surgeon to join their fantastic team.
This is a well-equipped practice with spacious consulting rooms and plenty of kennel space. The team has ultrasound, digital x-ray, endoscopes, and a K-laser, along with a full in-house laboratory and a dedicated dental room with dental x-ray. The team consists of five experienced vets, including a surgery certificate holder, and a team of nine nurses, along with six receptionists and two Practice Managers. The practice holds fundraising events for local animal charities and the nearby national Cats Protection centre.
Day-to-day duties will include a mixture of consultations, working up medical cases, and some routine surgery. Candidates will be responsible for a wide range of cases with support from experienced colleagues. The working week is made up of four days for 40 hours per week, with Saturdays on a 1:3 rota, but no other out-of-hours work is required.
Based near the town of East Grinstead, there are many sport and leisure facilities nearby, plus a cinema and easy train links to London. The beautiful Ashdown Forest is on the doorstep, and Brighton and the South Downs National Park are also within easy reach. Gatwick airport is only 20 minutes away for those well-earned breaks!
The ideal candidate will be an excellent team player with some experience in small animal practice and be keen to work up cases to a high standard. An interest in surgery would be an advantage but is not essential. This is a friendly team looking forward to welcoming a new colleague and supporting them in whatever area they need with their wealth of experience in both medicine and surgery.
Salary is up to £64,640 depending on experience, a £1k welcome bonus, and a £2k relocation allowance if required.
