Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon Location:
Plymouth, Devon Salary:
£65k DOE
You love being a vet, you care, and you are good at your job. Long hours, production line consults, and little or no time with the patient are not what you signed up for. You have experience, but it's not being utilized, and you are frustrated, thinking about moving but worried you will get more of the same. What if we knew of a practice where you can work with a like-minded experienced team, a place you can get to know your patients in a friendly environment, spend time with them, and see cases through, a practice that gives value and a place where you can feel appreciated? Luckily, we do, and this one is hiring. A modern independent practice in the pretty village of Roborough near Plymouth is recruiting for growth. Ideally, they are looking for a vet with two years post-graduation and some surgical experience, but a person who is keen, wants to learn, and gets stuck in from the start would be more valuable than experience. Owned by a vet, they offer a relaxed environment where everyone pulls together when there's work and relaxes when it's time. A good sense of humour is a must, seeing the lighter side of things in a job that can be stressful at times certainly helps. Not many practices can boast dozens of reviews on Google, but this one can. Their stellar reputation can be attributed to outstanding client communication, a transparent and reasonable pricing strategy, and delivering high-standard veterinary care. They operate a 5-day week here. Hours are 08:30am - 13:00pm and 14:00pm - 18:00pm with an uninterrupted hour for lunch. Saturday mornings only 08:30am - 13:00pm (1:2) and no OOH's. You can expect an interesting caseload with plenty of opportunities to consult, discuss cases, and operate every week. What's in it for you?
Up to £65k DOE. RCVS and VDS fees paid for. Access to a flat if required, CPD as you need it, and 28 days holiday, plus pension. Based less than 6 miles from Plymouth with its excellent shopping and restaurants, cobbled quayside, marine aquarium, coastal paths, the Dartmoor National Park, and award-winning beaches on your doorstep, what's not to like? Choosing a new practice is a big decision. You're a good vet who cares about the patients. Most importantly, you want somewhere you can stick around. A place to help, learn, and grow. What's next?
Send your CV, don't worry if it's not up to date. We can't get the whole story in a job ad, so ask any questions. I'll answer honestly, no hard sell. Be a more relaxed, fulfilled vet.
