Veterinary Surgeon

·
Full time
Location: Ormskirk
·
Job offered by: Vetisco
·
Join our thriving practice, offering a competitive salary and a supportive team environment just 40 minutes from Liverpool and Preston!

Opened in 2016 on the border of Ormskirk, we are a close-knit team of four Vets, a Practice Manager, RVNs, SVNs, VCAs and admin staff, and we are proud of our low staff turnover. Our large nurse ratio means we utilise our nurses to their full potential; they run a range of chargeable clinics and perform a variety of schedule 2 procedures.

We are working to create a great work/life balance for our team and constantly strive to create a better environment in practice, and encourage everyone to be honest when we don’t get it right. We don’t want anyone taking problems home with them and are open to ideas on how we can improve both in a non-clinical and clinical setting.

Located within half an hour of Liverpool and Preston, our practice offers a convenient location for those wanting to enjoy the amenities of these vibrant cities while working in a supportive and community-focused environment.

About you:

You will have a positive attitude to work and a methodical approach to the running of your day - you will be able to manage your time and priorities to ensure you get the work done. We don’t want someone who will work themselves into the ground because if you crack, no one is a winner. Instead, we want someone who loves being a vet and understands that with that job role comes a lot of work, but also realises that there is more to life than a job.

You will want to develop trusting relationships with our clients to help guide them in understanding the right decisions to make when treating and caring for their pet. We want someone to maintain the bonds that we have already developed with our clients, whether that’s discussing their pet’s vaccinations or their child’s performance at school! We believe that bond is crucial.

Set shift pattern including 1 in 4 weekends, but some flexibility with the rota to make it work for us all Weekday opening hours are 8:30-19:30 No OOH (covered by a local independent practice 24-hour hospital)

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
