Explore a world of opportunity at Tern Vets!
We are looking for an experienced small animal vet to join our team. The role comprises both surgical and medical duties on a daily basis. Our dynamic team already includes several certificate holders, and any new team member's interests would be encouraged and supported. The successful candidate will be welcomed, well-supported where necessary, but also given clinical freedom. We are a progressive and collaborative practice that strives to maintain high standards with a client focus.
Our typical full-time shift pattern is 40 hours per week between the hours of 8:30 am and 6:30 pm, including your share of the Saturday morning rota. No out-of-hours or on-call work is required! We are also happy to consider part-time applicants and discuss and support flexible working.
Be part of something special
Tern Vets was established over 100 years ago as a mixed practice in Market Drayton. Our Newport branch is purpose-built and has a friendly team with a family feel.
We have well-equipped consulting rooms, 2 operating theatres, an imaging suite with x-ray, ultrasound, and endoscopy, laparoscopic bitch spay equipment, Tonopen, and dental facilities.
North Shropshire is rural and beautiful, perfect for dog walking, horse riding, wild water swimming, mountain biking, etc., while being within easy access of Birmingham, Manchester, and Liverpool for nightlife, shopping, concerts, and airports. The larger city of Chester and the town of Shrewsbury are also an easy commute.
Meet like-minded professionals
We have a full-time equivalent of 4.5 vets, made up of full and part-time team members, and 4.5 RVNs plus excellent student nurses from Harper Keele University. Our vets and nurses are supported by an experienced and amazing reception team. Our veterinary team holds certificates in Feline Medicine, Small Animal Medicine, Surgery, Nutrition, and Cardiology currently in progress.
We are cat-friendly and work hard to ensure that our patients feel as comfortable as possible, even if that means consulting in the car park or waiting room. Many of our clients are long-standing, and we work hard to foster great relationships with them.
While we offer support to all vets, the ideal candidate for the current role would be experienced to balance the team. Certificate holder not essential but welcomed, confident, and competent in independent consulting and routine surgery such as bitch spays.
