An exciting opportunity has become available for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team here at Birch Vets! We are a busy first opinion 3 practice group requiring an enthusiastic new team member to join our team. The role is a mix of consulting and operating/procedures. We have a range of demographics forming our growing client base, with many insured clients or just those wanting the best for their pets, allowing comprehensive medical workups and soft tissue & some orthopaedic surgeries. We also work closely with a Merseyside Police, Guide Dogs for the Blind and other Wirral charities.

Our flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours truly tips the scale on your work life balance. We know that everyone has demands and priorities outside of their career and we want to make it brilliantly easy for you to strike the right balance. A typical full-time role would involve working 40 hours per week, including a 1pm finish, 4pm finish with the weekend rota being 2 in 5 weekends (9am-12pm and 9am-2pm). We are very open to discussing different combinations of part time hours.

An experienced and supportive team

You will be joining our excellent team of 6 Vets, 5 RVNs, 1 SVN and 7 Support staff. Our team are supportive and love to discuss cases among ourselves. We are happy to mentor and develop people's skills. We have 2 medicine cert holders and 1 pending; we also have one surgical cert holder.

About us

Our main premises in Oxton in well-established and has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 100 years with many clients having been here more than 40 years. We have 4 consult rooms and one nurse consult room. We have 2 theatres, a new dental x-ray and have recently upgraded our X-Ray to digital x-ray with Signal Pet technology. We have our own in-house lab including Idexx Lasercyte catalyst. We have 2 other smaller sites that are consulting only.
