Purovets have an exciting opportunity for a GP small animal veterinary surgeon to join the friendly team at a busy first opinion and referral hospital, working alongside their fantastic team of certificate holders in a range of different disciplines on a permanent basis. The role will involve consultations, surgery, hospital and inpatient shifts, and emergency and out-of-hours care alongside the usual first opinion duties. If you have a particular interest, they will always try to tailor your days to what you enjoy the most.

They know that everyone has demands and priorities outside of their career and they want to make it brilliantly easy for you to strike the right balance. Whether you are looking to fix or flex your work patterns, they can find the right solution for you. Their vets usually work between the hours of 8am

6.30pm and most choose to work their 40 hours over 4 days, however, they are happy to discuss working patterns as they appreciate the importance of a good work/life balance. There is a share of 1 in 4 weekends, including out-of-hours work on a rota with the night and twilight team. The successful candidate would be required to work 2 bank holidays per year at the main hospital with time off in lieu for these shifts.

You will be working at an exciting and ever-expanding practice that prides itself on providing great service and care, maintaining high clinical standards and offering a rewarding and progressive career. They accept certificate-level referrals in a range of disciplines and have their own out-of-hours service on-site. They have excellent facilities including a new extension and refurbishment of existing hospital, and their equipment includes laparoscopy, CT scanner, new Karl Storx HD endoscopy unit, second Karl Storx laparoscopy/arthroscopy unit, new dental suite, dedicated cat wards with ISFM gold standard kennelling and additional theatres. They also have two super branch practices which offer a friendly local service to their loyal clients.

They have a large team of 34 Vets with 8 new graduates, 41 Nurses and support staff. They are a nurse training practice and offer a structured 2-year programme for new graduate vets. A number of their vets and nurses have achieved and are training for certificates; there is an emphasis on ongoing development and learning. Their people are advanced in ECC, internal medicine, feline medicine, soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, diagnostic imaging, dermatology, ophthalmology, cardiology, dentistry, endoscopy and endosurgery.

The practice is situated just outside the beautiful city of Norwich, offering a wealth of historic buildings, one of the finest cathedrals in England and a magnificent castle overlooking the city. The countryside is on their doorstep and they are a stone's throw away from the Norfolk Broads and the Norfolk coastline, giving you the perfect opportunity to explore.
