We have an exciting opportunity for a Small Animal Vet to join our team at PetMedics at our RCVS accredited 24 hour Small Animal Veterinary Hospital and certificate led referral centre. PetMedics is a large veterinary hospital, staffed by a truly superb clinical team of 37 veterinary surgeons, 41 nurses and a supporting team of PCAs, receptionists, administrative staff and an ambulance team. We have a large waiting room with a separate cat waiting room area. We are proud to have been awarded the GOLD status for being a Cat Friendly Clinic and the SILVER Rabbit Friendly status. Our facilities include - 4 theatres, 6 consulting rooms, an intensive care ward, separate cat and dog wards, an exotics ward, an isolation ward, digital X-ray, a CT scanner, several ultrasound scanners, endoscopy, laparoscopy, mechanical ventilation, and an extensive in-house laboratory. This is a varied role which will include inpatient care and consults. There is the ability to perform medical and surgical work ups if desired in a supportive and collaborative environment. Within the referral team we have certificate holders in medicine, surgery, cardiology, ophthalmology and dermatology. We have several vets who hold ECC certificates in our 24 hour out of hours care that we provide for many member practices in the Manchester area. The current vacancy is a weekend role where a rota of 1 in 2, 1 in 4 or 1 in 8 are all options. The shifts are 9 hours each and therefore 18 hours for each weekend. Shifts involve ECC consulting, triage and managing any patients you admit with the support of the hospital vet team. There is the potential to do twilight shifts with start times from 4pm if applicants are interested. Salary is very competitive and dependent on experience (pro rata).
