Up to £110k Base Meraki Talent are currently working with a leading bank to help them identify a Vice President – Controls, Financial Crime / AML. The team is a centralised function that sits across retail, corporate, and investment banking. Some of your duties will include: Working with financial crime colleagues to support the development, implementation and optimisation of automated surveillance transaction monitoring solutions. Collaborating with key business, operational, technology, and financial crime stakeholders across the lines of defence to understand key priorities for the bank and identify risk management enhancement opportunities. Leading on innovation within the field of surveillance transaction monitoring optimisation opportunities within BAU as well as transformation activities. Development and implementation of validation plans for new and existing models. Preparation of model documentation that clearly explains the model's methodology, assumptions, limitations, and risks. Development and implementation of ongoing monitoring frameworks to ensure continued model accuracy and effectiveness, ensuring appropriate controls and governance in place. Analysis and assessment of the model's accuracy, performance, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Performing back testing and stress testing to assess model robustness under different conditions. We are looking for: Proven SME expertise in implementing, optimising, and tuning transaction monitoring systems or similar financial crime controls. Experience in a regulated business environment with governance, control, and risk management exposure, ensuring adherence to action and escalation procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a considerable record of building relationships and engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders across functions. Experience leading a team of risk management-minded SMEs with technical ability, motivating, coaching, and developing team members.
