Vice President, Energy Investment Banking About the Role
The Vice President will serve as a key leader within our Energy Investment Banking team, focusing on upstream oil and gas transactions. This individual will leverage expertise in the energy sector and financial acumen to drive transaction execution, business development, and client relationships. Key Responsibilities:
Transaction Execution
Lead M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory mandates within the upstream sector. Oversee financial modeling, valuation analyses, and due diligence. Draft and review key transaction documents, including investment memoranda and pitch presentations. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless transaction execution.
Client Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients as a trusted advisor. Lead client meetings and presentations, articulating complex financial concepts. Identify and address client needs, providing tailored solutions.
Business Development
Support senior leadership in sourcing new business opportunities within the upstream energy sector. Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and investment opportunities. Prepare compelling presentations to secure mandates.
Team Leadership and Development
Manage and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment. Review and ensure the accuracy and quality of work produced by associates and analysts. Provide constructive feedback and support ongoing professional development initiatives.
Requirements
6+ years of investment banking experience, with a focus on the energy sector. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred. Advanced financial modeling skills, with a deep understanding of valuation methodologies and industry dynamics. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and market practices in the energy sector. Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. Demonstrated experience in managing teams and leading complex transactions. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
