Dual Location: London Bloomsbury and Homeworking Where Can a Visa Quality & Compliance Officer Make a Real Difference?

At the University of Law, we empower students from diverse backgrounds to achieve their ambitions in law, criminology, education, business, computer science, and more. With 94% of our students employed within 15 months of graduating, we’re ranked among the top 10 institutions for teaching quality in the UK. Join our UKVI Student Compliance team, and you’ll be more than a compliance officer – you’ll be a crucial part of a team that supports students on their academic journey while ensuring our institution meets the highest standards of UKVI regulations. Using Your Expertise in Compliance, at the core of International Education

As a Visa Quality & Compliance Officer, you’ll help ensure that the University adheres to all visa sponsorship obligations while supporting international students as they navigate their studies in the UK. Day-to-day, this means:

Conducting audits, maintaining accurate records, and liaising with external agencies such as UKCISA and the Home Office. Providing support to International Students and directing them to the appropriate departments. Ensuring all RTS checks are carried out according to defined policies and procedures and that all documents remain up to date and compliant. Monitoring international student attendance and ensuring visa compliance. Advising internal teams and students on immigration matters and changes in UKVI policies. This hybrid role (London Bloomsbury/Homeworking) offers scope to collaborate across departments, contribute to policy improvements, and shape the experiences of international students. Understanding the Students Behind the Policies

This is the role for you if you thrive on detail and diplomacy – combining the technical expertise to interpret and implement visa regulations with the interpersonal skills to support students and stakeholders. Wherever you are right now, you’ll bring:

A degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience). Experience with UKVI compliance and the Home Office’s Sponsor Management System. A thorough understanding of student visa sponsorship requirements. The ability to handle complex regulations, work effectively under pressure, and maintain accurate records. You’ll be part of a close-knit team, ready to share your ideas for improving processes and policies while staying committed to a culture of continuous improvement. Why join us?

Along with a starting salary of £34,328, we provide a generous annual leave entitlement of 30 days (+Stats), and there’s a rewards package that includes: Private Medical Scheme and Life Assurance. Contributory Pension Scheme. Training and Qualifications (including Course Sponsorship/Fee Discount). Season Ticket Loans and Student Discounts. At The University of Law, you will work alongside other like-minded professionals who are passionate about driving innovation in higher education and delivering successful outcomes for our students. Our Approach

We are committed to ensuring our workforce is reflective of our diverse student population, striving to increase the representation of age, disability, gender identity and expression, religion, race, sex, sexual orientation, and socio-economic background of our employees. We’re also committed to providing adjustments to those who may require support with the recruitment process - please contact the ULaw Talent Acquisition Team at talentacquisition@law.ac.uk.
