We are looking for six South West based disabled artists from the Global Majority to participate in our next Lab at Bristol Old Vic in March 2025. This is a paid opportunity. Job Description

VX Labs @ Bristol Old Vic: Decolonising Disability The second Lab is a collaboration with Bristol Old Vic Theatre aimed at creating a space for disabled artists from the Global Majority to navigate their next steps in the industry. We intend to host 6 artists over 4 days with the support of facilitators to focus on the challenges of the lived experience of being both disabled and from the Global Majority. Workshops will explore self-advocacy, artist development and industry connectivity. All facilitators will be from the global majority. Note about the use of terms Global Majority and Disabled We are aware that terms describing protected characteristics or lived experiences that are linked to barriers to society are nebulous and problematic. This Lab has been developed in collaboration with numerous disabled artists from the Global Majority who have offered their time and insight. In addition to definitions used in law, we believe that every person has a unique experience and the right to choose their own terminology. We are using Global Majority to refer to artists who may be of Black, Asian, East Asian, Middle Eastern or Mixed heritage. We define disability under the social model to cover a broad scope of identities including Deaf, chronically ill and neurodivergent individuals. Participation Details:
