The Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit in CGI is a true IT Systems Integrator. Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This role will be based at a site in Chippenham 5 days a week.

Your future duties and responsibilities We are looking for an experienced VMware Infrastructure Engineer to join our team for an exciting project based at the Data Centre in Corsham. This role involves building a VMware Development and two reference platforms on behalf of our client. The position requires a hands-on approach, with full-time, on-site presence (5 days a week) at the Gloucester location.

As a VMware Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for sizing and building target environments, including processing, storage, and network components, based on requirements captured by the project team and guided by a Technical Lead.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

VMware Operations & Engineering:

Support the project team with VMware operations and engineering tasks. Virtual Server Design:

Design, configure, and integrate virtual servers in line with project specifications. Environment Building:

Size and build target environments, ensuring they meet processing, storage, and network requirements.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

Solution Analysis:

Ability to analyse project requirements and translate them into effective VMware solutions. Solution Design:

Expertise in designing VMware environments that align with project needs. Solution Implementation:

Hands-on experience in implementing and configuring VMware solutions. VMware ESXi:

Extensive experience in the design and configuration of VMware ESXi. vCenter & vROps:

Proficiency in using vCenter and vROps for managing and monitoring VMware environments. Microsoft SCCM:

Familiarity with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
