Rise Community Jiu-Jitsu aims to make the life-changing benefits of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu available to everyone. We are a small social enterprise running youth and community Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu programmes in Bristol and London. For context, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (or BJJ for short) is a grappling martial art similar to judo or wrestling that is growing fast in the UK, but is often unaffordable or inaccessible for young people in particular. Rise aims to change that! We create fun and inclusive environments where everyone can access the benefits of BJJ if they want to, and we also offer employability and skills training for disadvantaged young people. We started in early 2024 and have had a brilliant start, with funding from organisations including the School for Social Entrepreneurs, Hackney Council, Go! London and the Shackleton Foundation. We’d love to bring on an enthusiastic student volunteer to help produce and manage our communications on social media in particular. You don’t need any prior experience but a passion for comms, social media and sports/martial arts/BJJ would be definite pluses! Responsibilities

Identify opportunities for interesting content in what we do Create a content/communications strategy for the next six months Post regularly on social media in line with this strategy Spot and pursue other opportunities for us to grow our presence online We’re really flexible about how you’d approach this, although typically we are more available on Tuesdays and Fridays. We can offer you reasonable expenses, a small marketing budget, free Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes, Rise merchandise within reason and of course a great work reference and potential paid opportunities depending on how you get on! If you’re interested in getting into the non-profit sector, social enterprise, sports or martial arts this could be an enjoyable and flexible opportunity for you. Get in touch if you’re keen or have any questions! Thanks, Tom / Rise Community Jiu Jitsu Rise Community Jiu Jitsu CIC

We run youth and community Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu programmes to support improved physical and mental health.
