Volunteering involves contributing some of your own time, to help make a difference in supporting our community. The 3Bridges volunteering program is flexible and supportive and we will train you with the required skills on your volunteering journey, to assist making a positive difference in your life, and in the life of those around you. Volunteering Benefits Contribute to making a positive difference in your community Meet like-minded people and form long-lasting friendships Challenge yourself by trying something new Learn and develop a new skill About the Volunteering Role You will form part of the Youth and Community Education Team, working within the Early Intervention Framework. You will be responsible for engaging with young people by developing positive and non-judgemental relationships that encourage and empower them with a sense of agency within their own lives within our Youth Zone Drop In. You will play a mentoring role, assisting young people by providing support, as needed, and helping them achieve their goals. This volunteering role is also available in other locations such as Summer Hill and Mascot. Penshurst Park Tuesday & Wednesday – 2:30pm – 6pm Thursday – 2:30pm – 8pm Friday – 2:30pm – 6:30pm Summer Hill Wednesday – 2:30pm – 5:30pm Thursday – 2:30pm – 6:30pm Mascot Wednesday 2:30pm – 6pm Volunteering Duties Support Youth Zone staff to provide a soft entry point for young people to engage with our Drop In space with will allow them to access support and other community information and services. Engage with young people in a way that they feel welcomed and comfortable, to celebrate diversity, and show a genuine curiosity about each individual. Offer mentoring support to a small group of young people, to assist them to achieve their goals. General cleaning and tidying of Youth Zone. Participate in Drop In briefs and debriefs. Driving and/or supporting with bus trips from local schools. About You Passionate about engaging with young people. Enjoy developing and delivering targeted programs to young people, cooking and life skills. Have the ability to facilitate activities, games, and competitions. As a Volunteer at 3Bridges, you are required to provide a valid Working With Children's Check and undertake a National Police Check.
