The Medicine for Older People department at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) is looking for a senior nurse interested in progressing into a leadership position. We seek a friendly and enthusiastic individual with a passion for elderly care, service improvement, and staff development. 1st Level Registered Nurse on the relevant part of the NMC Register. Recognized mentorship qualification and experience as a Sign Off mentor. Degree or working towards one. Completion of appropriate specialty. Higher Education Institute approved course in supporting learners in practice. Extensive experience in specialty, including considerable experience at Band 6 level. Evidence of clinical leadership ability. Evidence of continuing professional development. Evidence of utilizing evidence in practice. Expert clinical skills. Logical and consistent career pattern. Ability to prioritize and deliver agreed objectives. Ability to work flexible hours and fulfill service requirements. Management Course (or equivalent). Experience as an NMC sign off mentor or clinical practice assessor. Evidence of staff development and succession planning. Broad range of post-registration experience. Experience of report writing. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
