Passionate about providing high quality compassionate care to the population of Nottinghamshire? Rowan 2 is a 16 bedded female Acute Ward based at Highbury Hospital in Nottingham. The MDT work closely together to provide high quality care. The ward has a keen focus on therapeutic activity and engagement and as Ward Manager you would be key in ensuring positive experiences for patients and staff alike. You will become part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team, with a focus on assessment of need, treatment, and recovery, while placing the patient at the centre of care planning. We provide inpatient care for men aged between 18-65 years old. Highbury Hospital provides high quality care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to people from Nottingham City and County who are experiencing a range of mental health and emotional difficulties. This role is within adult mental health services, additionally on site there are services from MHSOP and SSD Mental Health services. Main duties of the job

We are seeking a proactive, compassionate, caring and recovery focused Ward Manager with excellent communication skills to lead a male Acute Ward based at Highbury Hospital. As the Ward Manager you will be overseeing care approaches and systems of delivery. You will be pivotal in providing strong leadership throughout the wider team ensuring that high standards are maintained and improved upon. This excellent opportunity also provides the successful candidate to attend a variety of professional meetings, working collaboratively with the MDT and develop knowledge of clinical governance. You will need to have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to deliver a challenging agenda, including the management and leadership of a nursing team delivering high quality nursing services. Job responsibilities

As the Ward Manager you will be pivotal to the leadership throughout the wider MDT ensuring that high standards of care are maintained. The Ward Manager will be responsible for the management and leadership of clinical ward staff ensuring patients receive effective services and that performance targets are met. The Ward Manager will ensure that the staff teams' wellbeing needs are supported. The Ward Manager will work closely with medical colleagues and others to ensure strong MDT clinical leadership and to manage team resources and budgets. The Ward Manager will work closely with health and social care partner agencies as well as the independent sector to ensure timely discharge and effective community follow up, signposting where necessary. There is an expectation of participation with the on-call rota providing management and leadership support out of usual hours to AMH services. To ensure the development of services in line with the business plans particularly the implementation of the Trust aims and objectives developed in line with National Targets. To understand and appreciate organisational structures, business strategy and the work of other departments for the development of the service. Person Specification

Training

Willingness to undertake new clinical practices, education and training that will enhance service delivery. Qualifications

Professional Qualification (Mental Health/Learning Disabilities) plus further specialist knowledge/post registration experience to diploma level or equivalent underpinned by theory within physical healthcare or other formal training. Maintain current registration on a professional register. Demonstrates continuing professional development within their specialism. Management and leadership qualification/experience. Experience

Demonstrate satisfactory clinical expertise for the banding. The ability to deal with and resolve conflict. Knowledge

Advanced knowledge of the principles of medication management and concordance. Knowledge of education of others and identification of training requirements. Advanced knowledge of the Care Programme Approach, Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty and Safeguarding etc. Knowledge and understanding of current legislation and understanding of clinical risk assessments. Knowledge of the nursing 6 c's. Aware of national and local issues impacting nursing care. Knowledge of management theories. Skills

Salary: £46,148 to £52,809 a year (pro rata for part-time)
