An exciting opportunity has arisen for an aspiring ward manager to lead ward 15 at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. Ward 15 is a busy and developing ward that focuses on complex discharges, ensuring our patients are on the right pathway. The successful candidate will be supported in their development and the ongoing running of the ward. Ward 15 is an elderly care ward with 27 beds. As ward manager, you will be responsible for ward assurance and meeting clinical governance targets. You will be responsible for a team of staff and ensuring all patients receive a high standard of care. Flexibility and willingness to embrace new ways of working dependent on service needs is an essential part of the role. Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced ward sister/charge nurse who is keen to develop into a ward manager role and wants to develop their skills and experience further. The successful candidates will demonstrate the excellent leadership skills required to ensure safe, quality care is delivered to the patients on this ward during these challenging times. You must be confident in team building and maintaining staff morale whilst laying down expectations and standards as you start this new journey. You must be resilient and keen to embrace change, whilst supporting junior and new members of the team. Person specification

QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING

First level registration with NMC Evidence of recent education in a relevant field Evidence of continuing professional development Recognised teaching and assessing skills Recognised teaching qualification. KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE

Evidence of effective leadership and developmental work Demonstrate an understanding of current issues in health and social care Up to date professional knowledge Commitment to clinical audit, research, and evidence-based practice Experience and facilitation of change management Experience in research/audit Evidence of innovative practice. COMMUNICATION AND RELATIONSHIPS

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines whilst paying attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure.
