Ward Manager - Laurel Ward Hyper-Acute Unit

Are you an outstanding clinical nurse leader with patients and staff at the center of everything you do? We are looking for an exceptional clinical leader to lead our Hyper Acute unit where we provide a high standard of care to both Medical and Surgical patients. We are looking for a Band 7 ward manager who is ready to lead a team to grow and develop excellent evidence-based nursing and exceptional patient experience. We also welcome applications from candidates that have previous band 7 experience. Applicants who are interested will have experience in acute medicine and in the care of the critically unwell patient. Laurel ward is a 10-bedded Hyper Acute unit. As ward manager, you will work closely with the critical care outreach team and the Intensive care team. Laurel ward recently achieved silver in the ward accreditation, the only Medical ward in the trust to do so. The ward manager and nursing staff work closely with the Multi-disciplinary team to ensure our patients receive a positive experience during their stay in the ward. In addition to access to internal and external training opportunities. Main Duties of the Job

To carry the continuing responsibility throughout the 24-hour period for the assessment and delivery of care needs, resource management of Laurel Ward including budgets, capacity, and patient pathways. Provide effective leadership and evidence-based clinical support and guidance. To participate in benchmark and quality audits including observation of care, ensuring that staff receive feedback on the results, and that where necessary action is taken to improve standards. Experience in a High Acuity Care Setting

2 years working as a band 6 in a high acuity area. Previous Band 7 experience. Education and Training

Registered General Nurse or equivalent. Educated to degree level or working towards. Recognised mentorship course. Evidence of continuing clinical & professional development. Evidence of audit or research project. Knowledge and Experience

Experience at Band 6 ward level. Experience within specialty and management experience in acute setting. Knowledge of current nursing issues. Knowledge of professional responsibilities. Prior experience as a team leader. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
