L8 Ward , an acute medical ward. We are seeking an energetic and motivated nurse with strong leadership skills to take on this rewarding role.

The successful candidate will have

extensive post-registration experience

and the ability to work calmly under pressure while leading a team. You will be expected to

deputise in the absence of the Ward Manager , ensuring the ward continues to run efficiently and patients receive the highest standard of care.

We are looking for:

Main duties of the job

The ward has patients with a variety of clinical presentations and conditions, ranging from respiratory, gastrointestinal, and cardiology conditions, with patients usually being admitted directly from our Emergency Assessment Unit.

The post holder is responsible for the assessment of patient care needs and development, devising, implementing and evaluating programmes of care, both for a specific group of patients as the named care provider and in supporting the care of all patients on the unit.

As a Sister / Charge Nurse you will provide daily clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and support staff in the delivery of evidence based practice. Actively support the Ward / Unit Manager in the effective running of the department including in their absence.

You must be able to motivate staff to achieve high standards of care, and possess excellent communication skills to ensure that the aims of the Trust are achieved.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC Pin within the next 2-3 months.

Please note an NMC PRN Pin is not a full NMC Pin and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receive a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely.
