We have a fantastic opportunity for a Warehouse Shift Manager to join our Perishables operations team at our site in Heathrow. Your Role

As the Warehouse Shift Manager, you will be responsible for managing and leading the Perishables warehouse operations team, ensuring everyone in your team is focused on QSHE, Continuous improvement, and customer centricity. You will exhibit Kuehne + Nagel behaviours consistently to deliver shipments on-time and in good order, working collaboratively with all other physical operations (Gateway, Retail & Transport) to achieve the shared aim of consistently excellent service delivery. This role operates on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern with working hours from 8pm – 8am. Your Responsibilities

With the support of 1 team leader, manage a team of up to 30 warehouse colleagues, including permanent and agency staff. Responsible for Inbound and Outbound Cargo Flows, Manpower, Equipment & Inventory to ensure cost optimization and deliver consistently excellent service. Accountable for the day-to-day management of the operation, ensuring all operations are carried out in a cost-effective manner. Effectively manage people and carry out procedures relating to absence management and general operational HR administrative duties. Take ownership for the rapid resolution of all operational issues, communicate regularly with all stakeholders, and ensure all issues are managed according to SLA. Ensure effective performance management and identify training requirements for current responsibilities and Kuehne + Nagel’s management succession plans. Conduct thorough and comprehensive inductions for all colleagues using the appropriate documentation. Ensure the warehouse operates in full compliance with relevant ISO 9001 standards, K+N Quality Management System, and any customer-specific requirements. Create and maintain an environment for continuous improvement, planning all processes, space, and workload for full efficiency. Develop and execute a clear communication strategy, including conducting and recording pre-shift meetings, completing relevant and clear shift handovers, and participating in Department and/or Branch meetings. Provide regular communications via staff briefings and ensure all relevant briefings are signed by all colleagues (as applicable) and retained for quality compliance purposes. Your Skills and Experiences

Previous experience in managing warehouse operations, preferably at Shift Manager or higher level. Excellent knowledge of airfreight warehousing; a background in freight/logistics or Airline/Cargo operations is advantageous. Good knowledge of Pharma & Healthcare supply chain requirements. Good knowledge of GDP/GMP. Extensive experience in the Air Logistics industry with in-depth knowledge of Air Logistics products. Demonstrable People Management skills; know how to motivate a team to consistently deliver excellent results. Able to work under pressure and solve problems; a calm, methodical, and organized approach is essential. Good communication skills and customer-focused with a proven record of exceeding customer expectations. Good Reasons to Join
