This is an office-based position and remote working is unavailable.
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB In the context of Council's Corporate Plan and Departmental objectives, the post-holder will provide dynamic, effective, and innovative leadership by:
Ensuring the development and implementation of the Council's waste management and sustainability strategy and plans, such that all aspects within the post-holder's responsibility are managed to a consistently high standard;
Taking day-to-day responsibility for the management of all waste contracts, including contract planning, procurement, and monitoring following award;
Identifying and analysing waste trends and funding opportunities that contribute to successful change and continuous improvement.

Recruitment Process The recruitment process will assess the suitability of the candidates against the requirements for the post including the
7 competencies
identified in the Competence Framework for Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council.
A reserve list will be created for this post for a 12 month period and if this post becomes available either part time, full time, temporary or permanent within 12 months this will be offered to reserve candidates in order of merit.
