Our client is a software company and is looking for a Web Designer / FrontEnd Developer with expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript / JQuery with a focus on UI / UX, Photoshop, Illustrator etc. to work in their head office in Hertfordshire. This role will be a Hybrid role – so 2 days in office and the rest working from home. Job Purpose: The Design and Implementation department is responsible for designing and building websites within the company’s bespoke Page Builder platform, where HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills are used to deliver efficient, functional, and visually appealing websites, whilst aligning with client expectations and adhering to industry best practices. The team engages in effective communication with clients throughout the design and build process, providing comprehensive support to ensure the successful launch and operation of their website. In addition, the team is responsible for discussing new features, requests, and modifications to all clients, either through direct channels or via an in-house support ticket system. Key accountabilities or responsibilities of the job: Develop and maintain high-quality responsive websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery with a focus on UI/UX. Deliver new and innovative designs while engaging with clients throughout the design process and providing comprehensive support to ensure the successful launch and operation of their website. Utilize JavaScript to enhance website elements with innovative techniques. Implement comprehensive optimization techniques to maximize website performance and efficiency. Develop responsive designs for optimal viewing experiences across various devices and platforms, ensuring cross-browser compatibility. Conceptualize and wireframe website designs to effectively communicate ideas and gather feedback. Communicate project progress, issues, and risks to stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner and negotiate and manage expectations as needed. Schedule client meetings to discuss site builds and resolve any issues or concerns. Demonstrate proficiency in design tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD) and front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for effective collaboration. Education, experience, and skills: Bachelor's degree in web design, graphic design, or a related field. A-Levels/ BTEC – Design subjects preferred. Knowledge of travel-related UI / Knowledge of travel booking processes. Excellent understanding of current web design principles, HTML and CSS. Up-to-date knowledge of SEO and best practices for web optimization. Experience with JavaScript and jQuery. Experience using visual design programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe XD. Excellent communication and time management skills. Experience working on multiple projects from start to finish in a fast-paced environment. Experience being performance managed focusing on meeting SLA’s/deadlines and objectives. Place of work: Hybrid - 2 days in office in Hertfordshire.
