Are you ready to lead the way in digital communications and help shape the future of SSEN Transmission? As a hands-on Website and Social Media Manager, you'll take charge of managing our website and social channels while also acting as the Website Product Owner. You'll play a key role in delivering ongoing improvements to SSEN Transmission's digital platforms, ensuring our website and social media channels effectively support both our stakeholders and internal teams. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in digital communications alongside product ownership to enhance our online presence, reputation, and digital transformation.
Your role will focus on developing a proactive digital communications strategy that maximises the effectiveness of our digital channels, ensuring alignment with SSEN Transmission's objectives. You will take ownership of the website's evolution, managing the product backlog, GDPR and cybersecurity compliance, prioritising updates, and leading agile delivery.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Developing and Implementing Data-Driven Strategies: Lead the development and execution of data-driven strategies for SSEN Transmission's website and social media channels, ensuring they align with business goals and respond to the needs of internal and external stakeholders, leveraging web analytics and social media insights.
- Website Product Ownership & Agile Delivery: Manage the product backlog for the website, prioritising changes and working with IT and internal teams to ensure the website evolves with the business and meets user expectations. This includes overseeing the day-to-day management of the website, ensuring content is engaging, on-brand, and reflects the latest business initiatives.
- Managing our Website & Social Media Team: Lead a small team responsible for the day-to-day management of the website and our social media channels, ensuring efficient content production, brand consistency, and coordination with internal contributors to enhance SSEN Transmission's online presence.
- Digitalisation of Processes: Support the digital transformation of internal processes, identifying opportunities to digitalise low-value tasks and improving efficiency through the website and other digital tools.
- User-Centred Design & UX: Incorporate best practices in user experience (UX) design, staying updated on the latest trends and ensuring a user-centred approach in all website and digital content. Develop and deliver training for internal teams on how to use and manage the website, while providing ongoing support to help them resolve issues efficiently.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Experience in digital communications and product ownership, preferably in a large, complex organisation, with a strong track record of delivering innovative digital strategies. Solid experience managing websites and social media channels, including content strategy, product backlog management, ongoing improvement through agile delivery and third-party vendor management.
- Strong understanding of user experience principles, with the ability to implement user-centred design practices and stay up-to-date on emerging trends.
- Knowledgeable on GDPR and cybersecurity compliance requirements for digital platforms and experience in overseeing regular audits and penetration testing.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and deliver on time.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, driving collaborative and innovative digital communications strategies that support SSEN Transmission's business objectives. Experience in delivering systems training for internal teams on how to use and manage the website, while providing ongoing support to help them resolve issues efficiently.
