Weekend Mechanical Engineer
Days: Friday - Sunday 06:00 - 18:00 36 Hours Per week
Hourly Pay: £36,523 - £40,641 + Weekly Production Bonus + OT 19 Days Holiday Plus Public Holidays Overtime @ 1.5 6 Month Probation Period
Key Responsibilities:
Perform reactive maintenance to address breakdowns and minimize downtime. Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to ensure machinery runs efficiently and reliably. Diagnose and repair mechanical related faults. Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment. Ensure all maintenance work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement solutions to enhance equipment performance and productivity.
What skills are you going to bring to the team? Mechanical qualifications (time served apprenticeship). 5+ years' experience of operating in a medium/large automated manufacturing operation within a heavy industry. Experience in a maintenance mechanical engineering role. Experience of welding and fabrication (preferably MMA, MIG & MAG). Experience of computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) and stock control systems. Experience of working with engineering schedule KPIs. Effective communication skills and a team player. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail. Extensive knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
