Main Responsibilities

To fabricate and weld complete tools/equipment to standards/procedures set out by STATS and STATS customers/clients. Work to and maintain a high standard of quality to the STATS products and services. Work in a safe manner at all times to protect all colleagues, clients and visitors on site. Carry out the movement of material/equipment within the shop area. Report any defects to material, components or equipment to the Fabricator/Welder Supervisor. Ensure all relevant drawings, procedures and instructions are to the latest revisions, prior to work commencing. Aid in the proposal and introduction of new fabrication/welding techniques to improve productivity or safety. Help with training of apprentices. Liaise with the Fabricator/Welder Supervisor on any issues arising. Report any environmental and health & safety issues that arise. Work within STATS standards and company procedures at all times. Any other duties required by the Fabricator/Welder Supervisor. Aid in the creation of risk assessments as and when required. Liaise with the supervisor on any material, customer/project issues. Help in the proposal and introduction of new safety equipment. Maintain sufficient material and stock levels in the store. Maintain material certification and traceability for all material used. Ensure that all gauge/inspection equipment are correct and current prior to use. Individual Quality and Safety Responsibilities:

Comply with STATS and Client quality, safety and environmental management systems and procedures at all times. Ensure all accidents/incidents/near misses/hazards are immediately reported and relevant paperwork is complete. Experience

Ability to work as part of a small focused team working to high standards with client lead times being the delivery driver. Flexibility and shift working on occasions required. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings/specifications etc. The use of fabrication and welding equipment and test tools in a safe manner. Ability to use inspection equipment. Full understanding of various methods of fabrication and welding. Skill in planning methods of fabrication and welding. Ability to use lifting equipment effectively. Understanding of environment and health & safety. Competent level of understanding in engineering terminologies, fabrication and welding equipment. Qualifications

Mechanical trade with good all-round understanding of fabrication and welding techniques. TIG, sub arc and profile burning experience desirable but not essential as training will be provided. Will have to weld to a standard of 6G; training will be provided. Personal Qualities
