Welding Inspector

The Role: As a

Welding Inspector , you ll ensure the highest quality standards across a wide range of fabrications, including structural steelwork and large-scale assemblies. You ll be responsible for

weld inspections ,

non-destructive testing (NDT) , and ensuring compliance with

ISO 9001 ,

PD5500 , and

EN 1090

standards. Working closely with production teams, you ll identify and resolve non-conformances, inspect final fabrications, and produce detailed reports. Occasionally, you ll visit client sites for inspections and testing.

Key Responsibilities: Conduct

weld inspections

and

NDT , including

DPI

and

MPI . Perform pressure testing (air and hydro) to verify structural integrity. Inspect fabrications against technical drawings and customer specifications. Ensure compliance with industry standards, including ISO 9001 and EN 1090. Write detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation. Liaise with clients, production teams, and auditors to uphold quality standards. What They re Looking For: PCN Level 2 certification

in DPI and MPI (current accreditation required). Strong knowledge of welding processes and associated defects. Proven experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally. Desirable Skills: CSWIP 3.0/3.1 certification or equivalent welding inspection qualifications. Experience in pressure testing and interpreting technical drawings. Familiarity with advanced standards like ASME or AWS D1.1. Engineering qualifications such as HNC/HND in Mechanical or Welding Engineering. Why Join Them?
