The Wells Manager has direct responsibility for all engineering, evaluation, and execution of Well Engineering Projects within Prax Upstream. This includes both operated and non-operated assets and as part of New Business evaluation. The Wells manager will be accountable for establishing robust baselines of drilling programs and will supervise and monitor all planning and operations, providing operational guidance and planning assistance to the Project and Discipline Leads, ensuring all work is conducted in accordance with Company policy, technical standards, HSE regulations and management systems. Responsibilities: Accountable for performing all duties with due regard to the health, safety of self, others and of the environment in which they are undertaken. Accountable to ensure that all well activity in new business programs is understood, risks identified, and appropriate costs and schedules are used in any evaluation. Ensure the maintenance of operated and non-operated well stock in a safe state. Accountable to ensure that all well programs are delivered within cost and schedule. Accountable for achieving operations program objectives either directly in operated projects or indirectly through Joint Venture influence. Develop wells contract strategy, support contract management and negotiation with supply chain and service providers engaged in wells delivery. Cost / Risk analysis and AFE preparation for well programmes. Ensure that actual well costs and other pre-defined KPIs are monitored and benchmarked against offset data and pre-defined well objectives. Accountable for Prax or third-party project teams plan and execute projects in adherence with Documented Systems and practices. Responsible for approval of all programs and major technical documents such as EOWR’s and study reports. Establish new projects, define resource requirements, play active part in project start up and handover to appointed Project Leader(s). Daily monitoring of Project operations and communications with Project Team Leader(s). Participate in key planning milestones, e.g., Risk Assessments, DWOPs, CWOPs, HAZOPs, HAZIDs. Coordinate and participate in periodic audits/inspections of Prax or third-party project planning and operations. Focal point on all well activity between Prax and third-party service companies. Ensure that work is carried out in a safe manner with due regard to safety and the environment. Actively ensure Lessons Learned are communicated through all project teams. Ensure that the business is operated, and all services are delivered with a clear focus on Quality and in a way that meets HSE requirements. Responsible for building a strong team culture within and between Project Teams. Ensure team compliance with HR requirements such as personal development plans, objective setting, and regular assessments and in developing training plans. Input as required in to training budget reviews. Recruit, lead, coach, develop and provide timely Performance Assessments for wells team personnel. Implement and comply with recognised industry policies and guidelines; obtain necessary endorsements from well examiner and regulators as appropriate. Qualifications: Minimum bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline Skills & Competencies: Minimum of 15 years oil and gas industry experience, covering broad range of job functions in well engineering and operations. Minimum 10 years’ experience managing Well Planning / Operations teams with strong preference for direct operator experience directing multiple-well programs both onshore and offshore. Proven track record in HSE Leadership. In depth knowledge and proven ability to implement operations management systems to effectively cover all aspects of Well Construction Highly developed influencing skills. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Track record of successfully developing, leading, and managing professional technical staff, supervisors, and managers
