Job summary

CNWL are seeking an exceptional clinician to join our established Individual Placement & Support (IPS) Employment team, providing strong clinical leadership.

The post holder will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of a high-quality IPS service that is embedded into community pathways, adheres to the IPS principles and aligns to the fidelity quality framework.

The successful candidate will be an experienced clinical leader with the ability to motivate and inspire others to ensure the strategic ambitions outlined in the NHS Long Term plan are achieved in Westminster. They will have a proven track record of providing exceptional care to service users and carers while supporting staff to deliver an excellent service.

An important aspect of the role will be to champion the IPS approach within the community pathways and provide supervision, training and on-the-job mentoring to incite creativity and motivation within the team whilst remaining committed to the fidelity of the model. Strong analytical and decision-making skills will be essential.

This is a new role within the IPS team and borough senior management team and we are dedicated to finding the right person to support the team.

Main duties of the job

Provide clinical leadership & team management for Employment Specialists within Westminster's Adult Community Mental Health Hubs. Ensure a high-quality Individual Placement Support (IPS) service is delivered in line with IPS principles & 'Fidelity' quality framework. Collaborate with stakeholders to offer employment support tailored to service users' needs. Lead & manage Employment Specialist staff to deliver an embedded IPS service within community pathways. Monitor & guide team performance to achieve Borough-level contractual access & quality targets. Assist the Team Manager in developing employment support models to uphold the highest service standards. Champion the IPS approach, providing supervision, training, & mentoring to foster creativity & motivation. Collaborate with the IPS Central Team to ensure fidelity to the IPS model. Hold a small caseload to role model IPS interventions while demonstrating clinical expertise. Spend time engaging with employers & service users in the community. Build partnerships with employers aligned with service users' interests. Develop referral opportunities & promote the service. Motivate & guide the team to inspire service users to achieve their employment goals. Support individuals in creating vocational profiles, action plans, & identifying job matches. Work with other employment services across North West London to provide a coordinated approach to employment support.

As the Westminsters Employment Clinical Team Lead:

To be the Employment Clinical Team Lead for Employment Specialists that are aligned to community pathways, responsible for the clinical practice of the team and ensuring that priorities are met. To assist and deputise for Team Manager in the Adult Community Hub pathways and support with staff absence, and be a member of the Hub leadership team. To line manage and provide clinical supervision for the Employment Specialists, providing expert knowledge relating to people's mental health supporting the Employment Team to develop their roles and service offer within the Adult Community Mental Health Hubs. To ensure the IPS Team are all working to full caseloads and ensuring high quality IPS fidelity is being delivered. To promote and share good news stories of people moving into paid employment at all levels within the Organisation in order to gain more referrals. Support fidelity reviews. To carry a small caseload to support people to find and keep paid employment. To work within the relevant legislative frameworks (e.g. Mental Health Act (1983) Mental Capacity Act (2005), Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, Care Act 2014, Equalities Act 2010). To promote a culture of service user choice and control within team members daily practice to be monitored and developed through supervision and appraisal. To ensure that team works within the relevant frameworks and policies for safeguarding vulnerable adults. To ensure that systems are in place for monitoring assessments, allocation, caseloads and clinical review processes. To demonstrate a high level of clinical competence both in relation to supervision of staff and direct face-to-face contact with service users. To be a member of the Hubs leadership team. To ensure that the service works in co-ordination with other Community and Employment focused offers (e.g. Employment Advisors in Talking Therapies). To ensure effective liaison with other relevant agencies. To maintain and develop administrative procedures regarding the recording of case records. To ensure that service users are involved in the development of the team and local services. To facilitate the development of effective supporting structures for carers in line with CNWL guidelines. There will be occasions when this role will be asked to support Hub Duty but they will not be expected to be a formal part of Duty rota.
