We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager, dynamic leader, and strategic thinker to join us in leading the Dorset Wheelchair Service. This is a great opportunity to help shape the team going forward to ensure the continued delivery of high-quality care to the residents of Dorset.

You will be working across Dorset and in partnership with Primary Care Networks, Local Authorities, Community Health, Mental Health and voluntary organisations to deliver an exceptional responsive service. You will lead a team to provide advice and mobility equipment, including postural seating and pressure care equipment to any client with a Dorset GP.

The successful candidate must have excellent communication, organisation and motivational skills, they must have experience of managing change and working across the wider health and social care system to drive service development. They should also have a good working knowledge of national regulations such as Medical Device Regulations; experience in Quality Management Systems would be advantageous.

The role is full-time 37.5 hours per week and is based at St Leonards and Dorchester.

Main duties of the job Accountable for ensuring the delivery of high-quality person-centred services with a focus on integrated care which always considers people's safety, privacy, and dignity. Manages and provides leadership to clinical leads, specialist practitioners and other staff in the multi-disciplinary team within the Wheelchair Service. To act as a champion for clinical standards and for continuous improvement in the service user experience, providing assurance that standards meet all contractual requirements. To ensure the delivery of up-to-date evidence-based practice with a focus on posture and mobility. To lead as a driver for change, contributing to the planning and design of services in line with Trust and government regulations to meet the needs of the individuals who utilise the wheelchair service.

Person Specification Knowledge, skills and training Essential Registered health practitioner Relevant full Masters degree or demonstrable extensive equivalent experience in the Field of Posture and Mobility. Exceptional proven leadership skills.

Desirable Experience and or understanding of Quality Management Systems

Job specific experience Essential Evidence of effective leadership and risk management skills Experience of complex service delivery including multi agency working. Practical experience of facilitating and managing change Able to demonstrate wide knowledge of health policy and its application in practice

Managerial/supervisory experience Essential Experience of operational management at Band 7 or above Able to undertake clinical supervision and systematic peer caseload review of colleagues on an individual or group basis
